 A very special honor - some friends with a sense of humor at l'Ecole Nationale des Telecommunications in Paris give Dantzig a unique award in 1972: "We are raising you , George Bernard Dantzig, to the rank and dignity of Honor Brother in the Order of the Golden Bird." The Golden Bird was the symbol of French Post and Telecommunications.
 The Medal of Science presented by the president of the United States, Gerald Ford, in 1976: "For inventing linear programming and discovering methods that led to wide-scale scientific and technical applications to important problems in logistics, scheduling, and network optimization, and to the use of computers in making efficient use of the mathematical theory."
PhD diploma from the University of California-Berkeley in 1946.
