Who in the field have you admired?
PHIL
Let me start with Albert Tucker. I worked closely with him for three years and then maintained a lifetime friendship. He's almost the only person I know who was consciously and rationally good. He had a code of ethics, a very nice one, and he observed it. You had to know him and work with him to see it in operation.
If he made a decision, the decision had nothing to do with his own interests or passions. It had to do with the institution or cause he was working with. He was a really remarkable guy. Many of us would pay him that kind of tribute.
